High School Faith Formation

We believe that good formation is a process that happens slowly over time. This is why our confirmation preparation is a two year process that typically begins the freshman year of high school. Our relational ministry model has the teens grouped with adult Core Team members. These mentors journey with your teen for the two years of formation in preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation. During the two years the teens are free to ask questions, share, and bond with their peers and church community! We always work with every teen and their particular situation! We want to help teens experience Christ through his Sacraments!

Our High School Faith Formation is usually called Life Teen (this includes those who are preparing for Confirmation and even those who are already Confirmed).

Life Teen was launched as a parish-based youth ministry in Mesa, AZ focused on the Mass and gathering teens together at a Life Night. Saint Cecilia is proud to be a part of this movement! We continue to be focused on bringing teens to Christ in the Eucharist and gathering them to be formed in the Roman Catholic faith.

Following the Mass, Life Nights are gatherings that are aimed to be both fun and a challenge for teens to go deeper in their relationship with God and to know more about their Catholic faith. They are systematic catechetical gatherings with four distinct segments: Gather, Proclaim, Break, and Send. These segments are derived from the flow of the Mass.

• Gather: This section of the Life Night involves an invitation to the teenagers that welcomes them to a Life Night. This can be anything from an interactive game, a chance to win a prize, a skit or a funny video clip.
• Proclaim: This section of the Life Night is devoted to the main teaching for the night.
• Break: In this section of the Life Night, teenagers are given the chance to "break open" the message of the night. Typically this takes the form of small groups. 
• Send: The send portion of a Life Night is to wrap up the Life Night by giving the teens a way to take the message they learned and apply it to their lives at home. Generally, the send involves some personal prayer time. 

Sundays:
Life Teen is on Sunday evenings from 6:30 PM-8:00 PM
