Serves a special need in our community . . .

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED 

WHAT

• Offers activities, entertainment, lunch and games for those affected by early-onset Alzheimer’s or moderate memory loss
• Fun and dynamic Outreach Ministry under Pastoral Care
• Two-fold Purpose:  Caregivers receive some hours of respite to tend to their own needs; and our guests, (Care Partners) enjoy a stimulating and fun morning of socialization and activities

 
WHEN/WHERE

• Once a month!  2nd Tuesday of each month (except July) from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM in the Community Center
• Volunteers needed whenever available between 8:45 A.M. and 2:00 P.M., or the entire time.  If you can’t help entire time, come for set-up, take-down or anything in between

 
WHY

• Brief respite for caregivers from the challenges of caring for a loved one with memory loss
• Fun, safe “party” for guests, with interaction from a “buddy”
• Many of our families will need this at some point
• In partnership with Care Partners Texas since 2005.  Serves the entire community, not just St. Cecilia.  (www.CarePartnersTexas.org)

 
HOW
“Buddies” provide friendly and loving attention. You can serve through your creative talents, cooking, organization . . . but mainly we need smiling faces and friendly company as together we enjoy live music, home-cooked meals and fun activities with our guests!
