Children hear God's Word Children hear God's Word with greater meaning when its proclamation andexplanation are designed especially for them. Twice a month, during the 9:00 a.m. At Sunday Mass, children who are 5 years old through 4th grade are dismissed to attend their own special Liturgy of the Word. At the conclusion of the Liturgy of the Word, the children rejoin their parents for the entire assembly's celebration of the Liturgy of the Eucharist. GEM's We are a ministry of mothers who seek opportunities for spiritual growth and building on the Catholic family values and traditions in our homes. Our members range from stay-at-home to full-time working mothers. Many of our programs are focused on younger age children, but we welcome all moms(even moms-to-be!) We work together as a group to:
Grow our faith and fellowship through recurring meetings & Bible studies
Coordinate and support parish activities for children (Christmas Live Nativity, Stations of the Cross, Easter Egg Hunt, Fall Fest)
Socialize and build a strong community of parish moms with Mom's nightout, park playtime, game nights, and more!
Organize charitable giving and volunteer opportunities for families
KID's Club (Catechetical Formation) Preschool through 5th-grade classes are offered September through April. We welcome and encourage parent volunteers to be teachers, aides, hall monitors, and assist with sacraments and special events. For reconciliation and Eucharist, please see Sacraments. OCIC This form of the order of Christian initiation is intended for children, not baptized as infants or who are baptized but have not received any formal catechesis, who have attained the use of reason (age 7 +) and are ofcatechetical age. They seek Christian initiation either at the direction of their parents or guardians or, with parental permission, on their initiative. Such children are capable of receiving and nurturing a personal faith and of recognizing an obligation in conscience. But they cannot yet be treated as adults because, at this stage of their lives, they are dependent ontheir parents or guardians and are still strongly influenced by theircompanions and their social surroundings.
