Extra-ordinary Minister of Holy Communion

These lay ministers assist the regular ministers of the Eucharist (the ordained) with the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ in the Eucharist to the faithful at Mass, as well as those in the hospital or the homebound.  

The requirements for serving as an EMHC are:

  • 18 years of age or a senior in high school.
  • Living a life in communion with the teachings of the Catholic Church. If married, must be a Catholic marriage.
  • EMHCs  must be trained in the basic theology  of the Eucharist as well as the proper handling of the Body and Blood of Christ.

 

 

 

Formation for new EMHCs has been scheduled for the on the following dates:

Monday, March 20
Monday, April 24
